The Maitland Art Center is dedicated to promoting American art and artists — featuring museum exhibitions in its galleries, outstanding instruction by professional artists in its studios, an ongoing series of travel opportunities, and a number of membership and support opportunities — all in a unique setting.  Founded as an art colony in the 1930s by visionary artist André Smith (1880-1959), that tradition continues with resident artists (Artists-in-Action), and a strong curriculum of art instruction in an intimate atmosphere.

The Maitland Art Center is located in Maitland, Florida, USA., near the shore of Lake Sybelia. From Interstate 4, take the Maitland Blvd. exit to Maitland Ave., turn south and proceed for ¼ mile to Packwood Avenue. Turn right, and go ½ block .  Free parking is provided on the left.  From highway 17/92, turn west onto Packwood Avenue directly, just south of Horatio (see map below).

The activities of the Maitland Art Association are sponsored in part by the Florida Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs and the Florida Art Council; and by the Arts Services Council, an affiliate of United Arts of Central Florida, Inc.
